Fabrizio Romano: Arsenal now make contact to sign ‘unstoppable’ £200,000-a-week star with ‘blistering pace’……

Arsenal have reportedly initiated contact with Athletic Bilbao regarding the potential signing of winger Nico Williams. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Gunners are among several top Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, that have reached out to Williams’ representatives to explore a move to North London. Williams, known for his blistering pace and dynamic attacking prowess, has become a standout performer for both club and country, amassing over 120 appearances for Bilbao and featuring in 16 matches for the Spanish national team at just 21 years old .

Williams is reportedly on a £200,000-a-week contract, and his current deal includes a €58 million release clause. Despite this, the player’s market value is considered to be higher, potentially complicating any transfer negotiations. Romano emphasized that while Arsenal have shown interest, they face stiff competition from other clubs, including Barcelona, who are also monitoring the situation. However, financial constraints may hinder Barcelona’s ability to secure the winger’s services .

Arsenal’s pursuit of Williams aligns with their strategy to bolster their attacking options, especially given recent injuries to key forwards like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus. Williams’ ability to play on either wing and his impressive dribbling skills make him an attractive target for Mikel Arteta’s side. While negotiations are still in the early stages, the Gunners’ proactive approach indicates their intent to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.
