BREAKING NEWS:Arsenal target ‘due to have medical’ as paperwork ‘done’ for summer transfer deal………..

Arsenal are reportedly close to finalizing the £51 million signing of Real Sociedad midfielder Martín Zubimendi. The Gunners have agreed to meet his release clause, and personal terms are said to be settled. A medical in London is anticipated soon, marking what would be Mikel Arteta’s first major acquisition of the summer transfer window.

However, recent developments have introduced some uncertainty. Zubimendi posted photos on Instagram showing him at a beach in San Sebastián, suggesting he has not yet traveled to London for a medical. Despite this, Arsenal officials remain confident that the deal will be completed shortly.

Zubimendi, 26, is expected to bolster Arsenal’s midfield, especially following Jorginho’s departure to Flamengo and ongoing contract discussions with Thomas Partey. His arrival would provide a natural holding midfielder, potentially allowing Declan Rice to operate more frequently in a box-to-box role.

While the transfer has not been officially confirmed, all indications suggest that Arsenal are on the verge of securing Zubimendi’s services. The club is also reportedly pursuing other targets, including Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyökeres and RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Šeško, as part of a significant summer overhaul.
