INITIAL DEAL; Board makes decision between Viktor gyokeres and Benjamin sesko as top priority striker for…………

Arsenal’s board has reportedly made a key decision in their search for a new striker, prioritizing RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško over Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres as their top target for the summer transfer window. While both players have been extensively scouted and admired by the club, Šeško’s age, potential, and profile seem to align more closely with Mikel Arteta’s long-term vision. The Slovenian forward, who enjoyed a strong finish to the 2024/25 season, is seen as a more strategic investment for the club’s future.

Viktor Gyökeres, who has had a phenomenal campaign in Portugal, was also heavily linked with a move to the Emirates. His physical presence, pressing ability, and goal-scoring record made him a serious contender for the role. However, his hefty release clause — reportedly over £85 million — and the intense competition from other top clubs may have influenced the board’s shift in focus. Arsenal are believed to be wary of overpaying and instead prefer a deal that offers more value and long-term upside.

Benjamin Šeško, still just 21, brings pace, aerial prowess, and a clinical edge in front of goal — all qualities that Arteta is believed to admire. His release clause, reportedly in the region of £55 million, makes him a more financially viable option as well. With Arsenal eager to strengthen their attack ahead of another title push, Šeško is now viewed as the preferred candidate to lead the line at the Emirates, with talks expected to progress in the coming weeks.
