NFL: Travis Hunter, a rookie, signs a historic contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars….See More Below ๐Ÿ‘‡

The Jacksonville Jaguars made headlines by selecting Travis Hunter with a blockbuster trade up to No. 2 overall, despite not having the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Jaguars made it clear that Hunter was a key component of their future by trading the first-round pick of the following year for the No. 5 overall selection in this year’s draft.

The Jaguars signed their top pick to his rookie contract after witnessing his skill on both sides of the ball at rookie minicamp.

Adam Schefte, an NFL reporter for ESPN, reports that Hunter has agreed to a four-year, fully guaranteed contract for $46.65 million with the Jaguars. The Jaguars are paying the full $30.57 million signing bonus that is part of his contract up front. Hunter is the first non-quarterback not selected first overall to receive his whole signing bonus up front according to his contract.

Yet, as a two-way talent that the Jaguars want to play at both wide receiver and cornerback, it makes sense for Jacksonville to attempt something unusual with their new possible superstar.
