Following his official visit to Tuscaloosa on June 20, 2025, Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban no has stated his significant confidence in getting five-star running back Ezavier “EJ” Crowell to commit. Ranked as the second-best running back in the 2026 class, Crowell excelled at Jackson High School in Alabama and is evaluating Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Texas, Georgia, and Ohio State.
Crowell visited with Alabama’s coaching staff, which included head coach Kalen DeBoer and running backs coach Robert Gillespie. He has said before, “I have a great relationship with the staff,” emphasizing how well he gets along with the coaching staff. Crowell’s frequent excursions to Alabama, including several in the last 12 months, show how interested he is in the program.
Crowell has found resonance in Alabama’s emphasis on a heritage of greatness and the chance to establish himself as a “legend” in Tuscaloosa. The Crimson Tide seem to be in a good position to get Crowell’s commitment soon now that his official visit is over.
All eyes will be on Crowell’s choice as the recruiting process progresses, as it may have a big effect on Alabama’s future backfield.
