A long-time WWE veteran who twice took home the World Heavyweight Championship has left the organization. Dolph Ziggler was one among the few WWE Superstars who was reportedly freed from his contract, according to Figthful Select. Mustafa Ali, Emma, Aaliyah, Rick Boogs, Shelton Benjamin, and Elias are the other Superstars quitting.

Ziggler reportedly considered leaving WWE years ago but was persuaded to stay by the organization, according to Fightful Select. Ziggler’s contract was originally supposed to last through the summer of 2019. When the news was revealed, John Cena paid tribute to Ziggler by pointing out that he participated in 1,554 matches for the WWE throughout this time.

Zigger spoke about attempting new things when he appeared as a guest on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet earlier this year.
