Kevin Phillips absolutely amazed by ‘world-class’ Liverpool player vs West Ham

Alisson Becker, the Liverpool goalkeeper, once again displayed his talent in the opening minutes of today’s match, stopping Tomas Soucek of West Ham United.

Kevin Phillips, who was covering the game for Sky Sports, was very taken with the 30-year-old Brazilian.

The North London derby dominated discussion leading up to Sunday’s games.

In their pursuit of Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham have both kept undefeated records in the Premier League.

Liverpool, on the other hand, is in the same predicament and, given how well they’ve performed this season, is practically flying under the radar.

It’s how Jurgen Klopp wants his team to be perceived after a difficult transfer market this summer.

Alisson Becker was one player that stayed with the team despite all the commotion.

One of the top goalkeepers in the world, the Brazilian did not disappoint tonight.

Alisson had other plans as West Ham thought they were going to grab the lead against Liverpool.

Although he was unable to maintain his clean sheet heading into halftime, the 30-year-old once again proved his worth and allowed his colleagues to grab the lead minutes later down the other end.

Alisson performs well against West Ham for Liverpool.
Alexis Mac Allister was caught with the ball in the opening minutes, giving the Hammers a great opportunity.

Soucek was discovered unmarked in lots of room, but the amazing Brazilian rejected him.

“A world-class save from Allison [Becker], he makes great connection from four yards out, it was a great ball in, [Tomas] Soucek unmarked in tonnes of space and he should have scored really,” said Phillips, who was covering the game for Sky Sports.

Michael Antonio of West Ham had a chance to score as well, but Mohamed Salah ultimately scored the game’s first goal.

Nayef Aguerd tripped him in the box, and he properly scored the penalty.

Salah may have had a small bit of luck when Alphonse Areola dove the wrong way, but after missing multiple opportunities last season, he won’t be grumbling and will be happy to have improved his record.

For years, Alisson has been fantastic for Liverpool, and West Ham is the most recent team to face him at his peak.

His talent has been hailed by both his former and current teammates, and his strength has been contrasted with that of captain Virgil van Dijk.
