Sergio Aguero believes that Jude Bellingham could well become one of the best players the world has ever seen after a superb start at Real Madrid.

 

The former Birmingham City midfielder joined Los Blancos in the summer from Borussia Dortmund for around £90million, and even the most optimistic members of Bellingham’s ever-growing fan club could not have predicted just how well he has started in Spain.

Eight goals in nine games has seen him become La Liga top scorer, and alongside three goals in as many Champions League appearances Bellingham appears to have the world at his feet. His performances for England have also been outstanding and Aguero has praised the 20-year-old’s mindset, claiming he could become one of the best of all time.

Aguero told Stake.com: “Jude’s adaptation was downright impressive. Ten games, ten goals, that’s the whole story. Even as a young player, the pressure of playing for such an enormous team didn’t affect him. That’s praiseworthy.

“You can even see him do great things for the national squad. If he maintains this level consistently, he may be named among the best for sure.”

City legend Aguero acknowledged that whilst his former club failed to secure the former Blues man’s services before his move to Madrid, he understands that a move was always unlikely given the need to bring in other targets such as Josko Gvardiol and Erling Haaland.

“Great teams will always vie for great players,” said Aguero. “City has managed to get the upper hand in several important occasions, like Haaland. Sometimes, it doesn’t go this way, that’s the way of the trade market.”
