Sean McDermott moves into second place on Bills all-time coaching wins list.

Sean McDermott reached another impressive milestone in his coaching career after Buffalo’s big win over Kansas City. McDermott has become the second winningest head coach in Bills history.

The head coach now has 69 total wins since becoming Buffalo’s coach in 2017. McDermott passed Lou Saban who has 68 wins and is behind Marv Levy who has 112 wins. He also has the highest win percentage in franchise history with .627 (69-41).

Amid the 69 wins, McDermott has led his team to three straight AFC East titles (2020-2022) for the first time since 1988-1991.

Buffalo’s HC also helped instill a winning culture that led the team to five playoff appearances in McDermott’s first six seasons. His first postseason appearance in 2017 broke Buffalo’s 17-year playoff drought. McDermott also became the third coach in Bills history to earn a playoff spot in his first season.

The HC has produced four consecutive seasons (2019-2022) with at least 10 wins and is three wins away from five straight. Buffalo and Kansas City are the only two teams to win at least 10 games and earn a playoff berth in each of those seasons.
