The Green Bay Packers Sign Warren Sapp’s Cousin To Game Day Roster For Carolina Panthers Clash .

The Green Bay Packers are preparing to take on the Carolina Panthers in Week 16.  The Packers (6-8) still have a very good chance to make the playoffs if they win out.  The Carolina Panthers (2-12) are looking to take as many positives away from this season as possible.

Prior to their matchup on Sunday, the Packers decided to sign the cousin of one of the best defensive tackles in NFL history.

The Packers have elevated WR Bo Melton and S Benny Sapp III from the practice squad to the active roster for tomorrow’s game against the Panthers.

For the third and final time, Sapp has been elevated. Due to Darnell Savage’s (shoulder) absence and Rudy Ford’s back injury, he can help the Packers fill in the gaps in the secondary. He played three defensive snaps and 13 special teams snaps in his previous two games as a practice squad elevation this season.

When Sapp was a three-star recruit at Eden Prairie High School in Minnesota, he sustained a knee injury that necessitated surgery and forced him to miss his senior season.

Prior to that, Sapp was one of the country’s top defensive recruits at St. Thomas Aquinas. His performance as a freshman led to 21 college offers, including ones from Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, Ohio State and Michigan.
