After retiring from the AFL at the end of the 2020 season, the two-time Brownlow Medalist will play for Myrtleford the following season.

Since beginning his remarkable career with the Cats and the Gold Coast Suns, Ablett has played for a number of local clubs, including Palmerston in the Northern Territory, Centrals Trinity Beach in Cairns, and Drouin and Creswick in Victoria.

In the past few seasons, Myrtleford has had difficulty in the Ovens and Murray League. He only emerged victorious from sixteen bouts the previous year, placing him last on the ladder.
