(AP) — GREEN BAY, WI One day after he had a breakout performance in the Green Bay Packers’ 33-10 victory over the Minnesota Vikings, Bo Melton was added to the team’s active roster.

On Monday, the Packers declared that wide receiver Samori Toure has been placed on injured reserve and that they have signed Melton off their practice squad. Tyler Coyle, a safety, was also added by the Packers to their practice squad.

Melton received game ball from head coach Matt LaFleur after catching six catches for 105 yards against the Vikings. Melton finished with the first 100-yard receiving effort by any Packer this season, having scored his first career touchdown on a 9-yard reception in the third quarter.

Following Sunday’s game, LaFleur remarked, “From the moment that Bo came here, (he’s had) just an unbelievable attitude, unbelievable approach.” “He has always prioritized the team. carries a lot of energy. Takes excellent pride in his profession, performs well when he’s not up, and gives stunning looks and strong performances on display teams. He also helps the defense by prepping our corners and our defenders for any receiver the defense may need to take away. I’m just overjoyed for him because he deserves it.

Melton was activated for four games this season, but he has spent the majority of it on the practice squad for the Packers. After the Seahawks chose Melton from Rutgers in the seventh round of the 2022 draft, the Packers signed him off of Seattle’s practice squad in the latter part of the season.

After the Vikings game, Melton remarked, “I’ll say that being on the practice squad is difficult.” “I’ve always considered myself to be a fantastic player and had faith in my abilities. You can’t let those days depress you when you’re on the practice squad. You must practice diligently outside each and every day. You never know when it will be your turn.

Over his past two games, Melton has 10 receptions for 149 yards. He had just one career catch for 7 yards before that two-game stretch.

The Packers (8-8) close the regular season Sunday by hosting the Chicago Bears (7-9). A victory would earn the Packers a wild-card playoff berth.
