BREAKING, He Decided Against A Return To The Green Bay Packers Due To…

The Green Bay Packers head into the offseason with aspirations of enhancing the team to make deeper strides in the playoffs.

The Packers have discovered that Jordan Love shows promise as a viable long-term option at quarterback. While whether he can attain the level of greatness achieved by Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers remains uncertain, Green Bay can begin building around him.

Improvements are needed in the Packers’ secondary and overall defense. Despite a promising outlook, Green Bay faces the challenge of being over the projected 2024 salary cap. However, they can create some breathing room through player cuts and contract restructuring.

The front office must navigate decisions regarding 11 unrestricted free agents, two restricted free agents, and five exclusive free agents. Implementing three key cuts and opting not to retain seven players are essential steps for the Green Bay Packers to enhance their roster and address salary cap constraints.

One of the players slated for a potential cut is David Bakhtiari.

Currently carrying the highest cap hit on the Packers’ payroll, Bakhtiari is projected to consume $40 million in cap space. Once regarded as one of the premier left tackles in the league, injuries have restricted him to just 13 games over the past three seasons. After featuring in only the season opener against the Chicago Bears, he was sidelined.

Given his significant cap hit and uncertainty surrounding his future availability, Bakhtiari emerges as a prime candidate for release. Although cutting him would incur a $19 million dead cap hit, it would yield $20 million in cap savings. Some fans are open to the possibility of him reuniting with Rodgers in New York, should he opt to continue playing.
