Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49er, titled…..

Former Iowa State quarterback and current San Francisco 49er second-year starter Brock Purdy was selected to the Pro Bowl Game, the NFL announced on Wednesday.

Purdy has been viewed as a favorite — at times — this season for the NFL MVP. In his second season as the 49ers starting quarterback — after taking over duties last season because of injuries — Purdy has completed close to 69.5 percent of his passes for 4,280 yards with 31 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Purdy leads the NFL in yards per attempt (9.6) this season.

The 49ers selected Purdy with the final draft pick of the 2022 NFL Draft. During his career with Iowa set nearly every Iowa State career passing record as a four-year starter for Matt Campbell’s Cyclone team. Purdy completed 67.7 percent of his college passes for over 12,100 yards with 81 career touchdowns to 33 interceptions

San Francisco is opting to not play Purdy this weekend — the final weekend of the NFL’s regular seasons — to keep him healthy for the playoffs where the 49ers have already clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs.
