The New York Liberty has appointed Epiphanny Prince, a 14-year WNBA veteran and two-time Champion, to the position of Director of Player and Community Engagement.

In this unique role within the Liberty organization, Prince, a Brooklyn native, will merge her extensive WNBA experience with both basketball operations and business initiatives.

Expressing her enthusiasm for the opportunity, Prince stated, “I’m thrilled about my new role with the Liberty. I’m thankful for the chance and eager to collaborate with the coaching staff, players, and all members of this esteemed organization.” She added, “Being in my hometown of Brooklyn adds an extra layer of excitement, and I look forward to contributing to the community.”

Having previously played five seasons for New York, Prince will now focus on enhancing player relations, development, and personnel evaluation within the basketball operations department.

General Manager Jonathan Kolb praised Prince’s addition, citing her illustrious playing career, basketball acumen, and extensive knowledge of the league. He highlighted Prince’s deep connections to Brooklyn’s basketball culture and emphasized the significance of her transition to a front-office role with the Liberty.

In her community engagement capacity, Prince will leverage her influence and local connections to amplify the Liberty’s outreach initiatives, youth basketball programs, and social responsibility endeavors across New York City.

CEO Keia Clarke emphasized Prince’s alignment with the Liberty’s community-focused ethos, noting her longstanding association with the organization and her invaluable contributions as a thought partner across various fronts. Clarke expressed anticipation for Prince’s meaningful impact in this pioneering role.

The announcement coincides with the impending start of the New York Liberty’s 2024 season, commencing on May 14 at the Barclays Center. Season ticket memberships and single-game tickets for home fixtures are currently available for purchase through Ticketmaster, with additional ticketing options such as group tickets and ticket plans accessible via liberty.wnba.com/tickets.
