June has arrived, bringing us one month closer to college football season. The Hawkeyes are set to return to campus in a few weeks to kick off their summer program. Iowa, coming off its third double-digit win season in the last four full seasons, aims to maintain its successful streak.

**DES MOINES, Iowa** — With June upon us, college football season is now just a month away. The Hawkeyes will be back on campus in a couple of weeks to kick off their summer program. Iowa, fresh off its third double-digit win season in the last four full seasons, aims to continue its success with an improved offensive performance.

USA Today recently updated its pre-summer rankings, placing Iowa among the top 25 teams. The Big Ten conference is well represented, with seven squads in Paul Myerberg’s Re-Rank top 25. This group includes No. 2 Ohio State, No. 4 Oregon, No. 10 Penn State, No. 14 Michigan, No. 17 USC, and No. 25 Nebraska.

Iowa is ranked No. 18 in the USA Today rankings.

Following the 2023 season, national outlets were skeptical about Iowa despite their 10 wins. Concerns persist regarding the Hawkeyes’ offensive performance. While most key contributors are returning, the offense’s lack of productivity has heightened criticism.

In response, head coach Kirk Ferentz hired Green Bay Packers analyst Tim Lester as the new offensive coordinator. Lester has started to implement pre-snap motions, an aggressive playing style, and a strategy that prioritizes wide receivers as more than just perimeter blockers.
