GREAT NEWS : Lopez leads the way as brave end skid with dominant …

The Atlanta Braves have returned to their winning ways, largely due to their strong starting pitching. This time, it was starter Reynaldo López who played a pivotal role in their success.

López delivered an impressive performance, pitching six shutout innings that led the Braves to a 6-3 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday. This win snapped Atlanta’s first five-game losing streak since September 2017, marking a significant turnaround for the team.

During his outing, López struck out eight batters, allowed only two hits, and issued just one walk, significantly lowering his season ERA to 1.69. His dominant display on the mound was crucial in securing the win and getting the Braves back on track.

This season, Reynaldo López has delivered four scoreless outings, demonstrating his consistency and effectiveness on the mound. However, the Braves’ victory against the Orioles was not solely due to López’s stellar performance.

The Braves’ offense came alive, recording 12 hits and scoring six runs, marking the first time they exceeded five runs in a game since June 4. Second baseman Ozzie Albies was a standout, contributing four hits, while designated hitter Marcell Ozuna added two RBIs with a double in the first inning, continuing his impressive season.

Despite López’s strong pitching, the Braves needed their best offensive display in nearly ten days to secure the win. The bullpen struggled, giving up three runs in the final three innings, allowing the Orioles to bring the tying run to the plate in the ninth.
