NEWS NOW : Packers Pay Next to Nothing for Talented Group of Receivers……

In the near future, the Green Bay Packers will need to offer substantial contracts to a few of their talented young receivers.

It remains uncertain whether those players will be Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, or others.

However, for the next two years, the Packers will enjoy a significant advantage, enviable to every general manager in football.

Minnesota’s Justin Jefferson has redefined the wide receiver market with a contract averaging $35 million per season. Miami’s Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle collectively average $58 million per season, while Philadelphia pays an average of $57 million per year for the dynamic duo of A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith.

In stark contrast, the six receivers who finished the 2023 season on the Packers’ roster have a combined average salary of roughly $8 million. Yes, you read that correctly — $8 million combined.

While players like Jefferson and Hill are clearly elite at the position, Green Bay’s wideouts are nothing to sneeze at.

The group of Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, Dontayvion Wicks, Bo Melton, and Malik Heath combined for 221 receptions, 2,813 yards (averaging 12.7 yards per catch), and 27 touchdowns in 2023.

These impressive statistics compare favorably with teams like Miami and Philadelphia, who allocate a significant portion of their salary cap to the wide receiver position.
